Kathleen Warner Yeates has been writing and devising theatre productions professionally for adults and young people for over 30 years. Additionally, she has worked professionally as a commissioned writer for animation and new media, a lyricist and writer Off-Broadway productions, a storyteller and writer for Central Park Conservancy, and has 5 screen plays in development. Kathleen is a full member of the Writer’s Guild of Ireland, and also works as a consultant for new scripts in development for theatre and film.

WRITING IN DEVELOPMENT:
Film: A short film set in Dublin, and animated feature film, and an international feature film set in the west of Ireland, and two additional international feature films.
Theatre: A physical theatre piece with music for 6 actors, a one-woman show with music, and other ongoing pieces for Flying Turtle Productions.

2020:
July – “Bog Braon” wrote and performed in a short film within a feature film entitled Bluefish, a mosaic of scenes filmed during COVID-19 in 7 different time zones with 23 actors, and currently in post production for a feature release.
June – “Midsummer Night’s Dream Escapes” wrote and directed a re-working of the classic, filmed out doors in St. Ann’s Park, Raheny Ireland, as a 50 minute film with new written sequences interwoven with Shakespeare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8gzRG7nUiM&t=781s
March – “Creative Choices” Wrote and directed an original theatre piece created for 8 adult actors. Performed at the Pearse Centre Theatre, Ireland Institute, March 2020 just prior to COVID-19 Lock-down.
2019:
December – “Santa’s Magical Trail”, Wrote and directed an extension of the previous years production of a site specific scripted Christmas spectacle performance, which included live actors, robotic animals and animated characters, with 13 different set marquees and 64 characters on the grounds of the Clannard Court Hotel, Athy, Ireland.
June – Wrote and directed Doctor, Who Did It, a murder mystery performed by teens at The New Theatre, Temple Bar.
March – “Missing” An original theatre piece created for 9 adult actors. Performed at the Pearse Centre Theatre, Ireland Institute, March 2019.
September – “Culture Night Noir” returned and created an extended sold-out production of this site-specific immersive live encounter with the world of film noir, featuring 13 actors, performed two evenings and 14 performances to sold out audiences at Ireland Institute, 27 Pearse Street, Dublin, as part of Culture Night weekend 2019.
2018

January – “Margaret Pearse & Company – Workshop Production” An original site specific workshop of a new play in progress written and directed by Kathleen Warner Yeates. The production was set in the Ireland Institute Building and the Pearse Center Theatre, featuring a cast of 11 female professional actors and 2 musicians, with traditional music and Irish and English languages. It was performed in January 2017 as part of the Illuminate Herstory Festival 2017.

May – “Hush”, a spoken word piece written and performed by Kathleen and set to musical soundscape for “In Between Silence” album by musician/artist Stano and featured in the 2016 International Literature Festival Dublin.
