Our CELT qualified facilitator, Miriam Stewart, has developed this unique course for the creatively-minded ESL student. In a fun and supportive environment you can improve your language skills through acting techniques, including voice and body work, improvisation, and some script work.

Course #15: Drama for Language Teaching (Saturdays via ZOOM)
Looking for creative ways to engage and inspire your language students?
Join our Drama for Language Teaching course and learn how to use drama effectively to enhance student comprehension, motivation and confidence in the language classroom. The course is facilitated by Miriam Stewart: CELT trainer, English language teacher and Drama in Education practitioner.
Over the 4 sessions, you will cover the following topics:
Introducing improvisation and drama games into the classroom
Drama techniques to enhance pronunciation and intonation
Effective use of role play to develop speaking skills
Embodied learning and grammar-why movement matters.
Each workshop will be highly interactive, blending theory and practice to instill a sense of the student experience and providing the opportunity to explore your own creativity as a teacher in a fun, relaxed online environment.
Whilst the course itself will take place on zoom, both the physical and online classroom will be considered when exploring and designing activities
Class sizes will be small (12 maximum) to ensure quality support and interaction for each participant. Book now to ensure your place!

Course #16: Learn English Through Drama (8-week) SPRING 2021 via ZOOM
This 8 week course focuses on developing confident, creative communication skills through improvisation, scene study, storytelling and pronunciation work. Develop your speaking skills and rediscover the physical and emotional side of language in a fun, relaxed environment supported by our drama instructor and English language teacher Miriam Stewart. In our final class there will be an opportunity to share some of our rehearsed work.
Suitable for English learners from B1 level and above.
Access to ZOOM is required for this course.
We will be keeping the same SMALL CLASS SIZE of only 10 students in order to maintain the highest standard of tutoring and full interaction. There will be constant interaction and creative engagement. You must have a good steady connection to the internet, and a laptop or tablet device with a camera and microphone (smart phone alone will not suffice for this course) in order to participate in this class on ZOOM. It will be important that you are in a quiet location where you can stand, move around and make noise!
When: Monday Evenings , 7:30-9.00pm, May 3rd - June 21st, 2021
Fees: €180, deposit of €80 due within 3-days of reservation. Remaining balance of €100 due April 19th, two weeks prior to start of course. Refundable only in the event of Flying Turtle Productions cancellation.
Course #21: English Through Drama Scene Study via ZOOM
This 4 week Zoom course is open to students who have completed a previous English through Drama course (face to face or online) and are eager for more! The course will focus on speaking skills such as pronunciation, emotional expression, intonation and emphasis through script work: studying scenes and performing them.
Our final class (May 25th) will be a Zoom showcase of our scenes performed for an audience of friends and family!
