COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Adult Scene Study is a 10-week beginner/improver adult acting performance course covering some of the basics of voice and body work, improvisation, understanding text and performance. Often students return to this course again and again to create new characters and sharpen their performance skills. It culminates in a final public performance in the theatre on the last evening of class.
In class, we will approach the acting work playfully and gently while maintaining a challenging level. It is suitable for beginners, as well as those with some experience who are interested in exercising and refining their technique. The course will finish with a presentation night for an invited audience, in which the students perform in an improvised performance as well as a 5-10 minute memorized and rehearsed scene from a play.
Due to the nature of the group work, this course is best suited to the student who is willing to attend all of the classes and who can be reliable to their fellow performers. It will require memorizing lines and a good bit of time outside of class hours for preparation.
Class size is limited to 10 students maximum, in order to assure the highest level of attention for all participants. Contact us to reserve.

REMINDER You must be committed to attend all of the classes, prepare for and attend the final performance night and be available for technical rehearsal that afternoon
- When: Wednesday evenings, 7:00-9:30pm, January 7th- March 11th, 2026. THEATRE PERFORMANCE on final night March 11th, 2026 and you must be available day and evening that date.
- Where: 2nd floor, Flying Turtle Productions, 27 Pearse Street, Dublin 2. Performance evening at the Pearse Centre Theatre

- Fees: €365, A non-refundable deposit of €100 is due within 3 days of reservation. Remaining balance due in full December 27th, two weeks prior to start of class. Deposit is refundable only in the event of Flying Turtle cancellation. No credit/no refund/no transfer if a student misses class for any reason..
