Requirements for entry

Admission is by previous attendance in one of our performance courses or by audition/interview, and is for the serious student with some previous experience who is interested in furthering his or her level of work, either for deeper understanding or on the professional track.

Due to our commitment to your creative development, class size is limited to 10 for the performance course.  See below for fees and dates. To apply or inquire for more information, please use our contact form.

Course #2603: Actor Training - Theatre Performance Creation (7-weeks) - January-March 2026

Course content will cover extensive voice and body work, and the creation of original collaboratively created theatre performance. It will culminate in two live performances on March 10th & 11th, 2026 at the Pearse Centre Theatre in Dublin. It is perfect for those of you who are actor/writers or who wish to work to devise collaborative and high quality creative and original theatre performances.

Lead by actor/director/writer Kathleen Warner Yeates, we will challenge you to create two physically contrasting characters which will be woven into a dynamic narrative to create an original theatre performance. This will develop the actor as a creative artist bringing a wealth of ideas into the rehearsal room.

Due to the content of  this course the participants must have previous performance experience either in our courses or as professionals. Participants must be committed to working with scene partners, and must be willing to work beyond the allotted class times in rehearsals at times to me mutually agreed. Substantial preparation is required outside normal class times and a commitment to attend every class and the performance technical rehearsal and show dates is required. Additional rehearsals for up to 16 hours will be arranged at mutually agreed times outside of regular class schedule and tech days.

Acceptance into this course is based on taking previous performance courses with us or by audition/interview. Please email to apply. Class size for this course is limited to 10 participants maximum.

  • When: Tuesday evenings 6:30-9:30pm, 7-weeks January 27th-March 3rd, additional 15 hours rehearsal flexible time, and PRODUCTION dress/tech in day and evening March 8th-10th. PERFORMANCES March 9th & 10th at 7:30pm.
  • Where: Classes held at Flying Turtle Productions Studio 27 Pearse Street. | Performance at the Pearse Centre Theatre, Dublin 2.
  • Instructor: Kathleen Warner Yeates
  • Fees: €360, Non-refundable/non-transferrable deposit of €160 due within one week of acceptance into class, balance of €200 due in full January 13th , two weeks prior to start of class. No exceptions for late payments. No refund, transfer or credit if a student misses class for any reason whatsoever including illness. Refundable only in the event of Flying Turtle cancellation..
